What will i learn during this course?

This course will provide you with skills and knowledge required to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in line with Australian Resuscitation Council’s (ARC) guidelines. This course is a requirement for working in some industries such as childcare, security etc and It is recommended this unit be renewed every 12 months in line with industry standards.


What are the pre-requisities of this course?



Pre-enrolment assessment

Prior to enrolment, Universal Training Academy implements a pre-enrolment assessment that evaluates learners’ existing knowledge, skills and experience relevant to the requirements of the qualification. This process includes:

Initial interview (via phone or face to face during initial enquiry)

LLN assessment*

Competency Assessment (RPL eligibility assessment)*

Assessment for any disability or chronic conditions (included in enrolment form)

*may be deferred upon the interviewer's recommendation during the initial interview

What is the course duration?

This course is delivered using blended learning method. Which combines online learning & assessment with face to face learning and assessment. Along with self paced online learning and assessment, students will be required to attend 2 hour face to face training session and 2 hours practical assessment session. Typical duration for complete course is 8.5 hours


What resources are required and who will provide them?


UTA staff and participants will have access to:

Learners guide, Recommended learning resources, Computer, Data Projectors and white boards


Students will be provided with following by UTA:

Access to online learning material, online student assessment portal, link to relevant websites, contact details and ability to contact trainer via the portal


Students undertaking this course will require:

A computer, tablet or a phone with internet connection (If you do not have access to the following please inform us before enroling so we can make alternative arrangements)


What assessment methods are used for this course?

Online Knowlege Quiz - This quiz contains several questions types including short answers, multiple choice, matching, fill in the blanks and true or false. Each answer is automatically graded and after each question students will receive automatic feedback. In case an answer is not satisfactory, your assessor will provide you with further feedback and/or training and more attempts. All questions should be satisafactorily answered to achieve competence in this unit.


Practial Simulation - For this assessment students will be required to demonstrate knowledge and skills in a simulated environment. Your assessor will observe your demonstration and provide you with feedback, comments and outcome at end of your assessment.


Please note: One of the requirements of the training package is that you need to perform uninterrupted CPR for at least 2 minutes on an CPR manikin placed on the floor. Therefore, students who are not able to satisfy the physical requirements of the course cannot be deemed competent or issued with a statement of attainment.

What will be the outcome upon successful completion of the course?
